Penny Blood: Hellbound now available via Steam

Natsume Atari and Studio Wildrose have announced that Penny Blood: Hellbound has left Early Access, with the 1.0 release now available on Steam. The game is priced at $19.99 with a 20% discount until the end of the year.

Penny Blood: Hellbound originally released for Early Access in March 2024. It works as a companion game to the upcoming Penny Blood (similar to how Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising works as a companion game to Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes.) It features a roguelike structure and action gameplay, with the so-called Hellhounders described as “rivals” of Penny Blood’s main protagonist Matthew. The game is currently only announced for PC.

Development status for the main Penny Blood game is uncertain. In the November Kickstarter update, director Matsuzo Machida stated that the game has still been unable to find a publisher. Later in November, Studio Wildrose posted a public notice of a lawsuit filing against Ben Judd and Dangen Entertainment — who managed the Kickstarter campaign — for unpaid production costs. In the meantime, Machida has begun work on a series of ebooks set in the Penny Blood universe.
