The growing menace of AI misuse across platforms with scammers impersonating, pig-butchering, and phishing victims, two rival dating apps have come up with two different approaches to getting their users genuine matches. Tinder has unveiled the ‘Photo Selector’ tool. When the user uploads a selfie, the AI tool creates a unique facial geometry of its face. It then curates 10 photos from the user’s gallery that the AI algorithmically believes would be the best pick for the user’s profile. Tinder’s AI tool is also trained to detect and reject nude selfies.

Meanwhile, Bumble’s earlier released AI add-on ‘Deception Detector’ helps detect spam accounts. The new tool works alongside human moderators as well. The dating app has now empowered users to report AI-generated profiles. Meanwhile, Bumble’s Private Detector tool automatically blurs any nude snaps on the platform.

Bumble’s founder earlier advocated to lay bare your feelings with your AI concierge to get better matches in the future. It’ll go on a date for the user with other AI dating concierge and help build the user’s profile, cutting down on rejections.
